Due to the Coronavirus pandemic classes are currently suspended since 16th March. The Branch committee continue to monitor the situation and any updates about the resumption of classes will be posted here.

Classes take place on Wednesday evenings during term time from 7:30-9:30pm

We meet at:

The Nottingham Emmanuel School

Gresham Park Road (off Wilford Lane)

West Bridgford

We meet in the Dance Studio which has a sprung floor and is situated behind the Main School Hall.  We have a General Class and usually a Beginner’s Class during the first half of the evening, taught by Scottish Country Dance teachers most of whom hold full teaching certificates from the RSCDS.  During the second half of the evening, the General class has social dancing, and is then joined by the beginners’ group to dance simpler dances together towards the end of the evening.  The more experienced dancers are very willing to help.

Please bring your own cold drinks for the break if you wish as unfortunately we don’t have facilities for making tea and coffee, and Scottish dancing is thirsty work!

Once a month (usually the first Wednesday), we don’t have a class but an evening of social dancing, usually with one walk-through, but no instruction in technique that evening.

Class charges are currently:
£3 for Adults
£2.50 for those under 25 and over 60

Advanced Demonstration Workshop (ADW)

We hold workshops for advanced dancers roughly once a month on Fridays from 7:30-9:30pm. They are intended for preparation for dance demonstrations, and to learn more technically difficult and demanding dances not possible in mixed ability classes.

ADW is held at:
The Methodist Church,
Stanstead Avenue,
NG12 4EA
